17th CENTURY JACOBEAN PERIOD OAK COFFER - Mid 17th Century Jacobean oak coffer

Stunning and rare 17th Century transitional coffer with one piece plank top, stamp decorated and chip carved to ends, hinged with original heavy iron straps. Heavy gauge pegged and tennoned panelled carcass with moulded rails and retaining exceptionally long stiles. Fine panel carving to front and offered with deeply patinated wax finish. Very fine museum quality example. Measures 50" wide x 29.5" high x 18" deep.
