Regency Rosewood Sofa Table Brass Inlay

At the height of the Regency period brass inlay was highly fashionable and the very difficult techniques required to inlay fine pieces was costly and time consuming work, so only the wealthy elite could afford to showcase tables such as this very high end example. Of lovely sweeping lines the canted drop end top incorporate line and paterea work and the blind drawers are flanked with inset tablets. A stepped facet base meets a platform base that sweep in to quadriform scrolling umbrella legs. Elegant, untouched and matured to a super honey tan shade. Very nice piece indeed. Measures 90cm wide leaves down, 145cm leaves up and 64cm deep.
