There are very few genuine Regency period tables surviving in the World today and literally only handfuls at the grand size of this fine example. Influenced by Gillows with his catalogued 'Imperial' design the highly figured Cuban hand cut timbers to the reeded edge top are stunning and a crisp runner system opens to allow any combination of extension leaves for seating of 8 to 18 people comfortably. Very fine turned and Gillows reeded legs terminate in brass cup casters. The table is of course somewhat tired after 200 years but apart from a couple of leaves that have seen very little sunlight, the table has accrued a beautiful warm nutty tan shade overall. We've pictured this table in its untouched condition but our price includes a very skilled restoration and finishing to your specification. On sale here for less than the price of the plywood 'style' reproductions our competitors sell so a bargain if you want the best of English cabinet making history at a trade price and an impressive, yet functional, asset in your home. Measures 430cm long x 144cm wide.
