Description
During a brief period of the late Regency period and through William IV our ancestors combined the sociability of the round breakfast table with the innovation of the runner sytem to make ergonomic extending dining tables on pedestal bases. This example is the best we've ever stocked and remarkably has survived without any restoration or polish work for 200 years. Underneath the currently uneven tired old polish is a superb run of highly figured hand cut Honduras mahogany and the articulate split pedestal platform bases are beautifully crafted. Offering great versatility whether sociable dinner in the round for 6 people or fully extended for 16 folk using any combination of the five extension leaves. This stunning piece of history will be something truly to treasure for somebody discerning once our team of highly skilled restorers have conducted sympathetic work to bring the table back to its best.
