Description
This extraordinary and unique piece is pure Pugin Gothic revival design work and almost certainly made for one of his grand building designs as a centre piece to a library setting. Prolifically carved throughout with linen fold panels and dot work the pedestal base is formed with partner kneeholes to the ends and multiple cupboard to flanks and sides. All furnished with super iron fittings and strap hinges with shelved instructions behind. Finished to a bracket foot shaping to the moulded plinth. The desk retains its original mosaic leather inset top which could potentially be revived or replaced with leather of your choice. Albeit tired this really is a museum standard piece so kept here in its untouched condition awaiting your instructions for the restoration, which is included in the price.
