In truth anything from the 18^th Century would be very rare and expensive but the format continued through the Regency and by late Victorian and Edwardian times the classic partners desk was made in mahogany, oak and sometimes ash in quite large volumes so available today at affordable prices. These often followed the Georgian design with swan neck handles, bracket feet, etc. but also the Victorian and Edwardian fashion with fretwork handles and plinth bases too. All would be fitted with a leather inset and gilt tooled top with classic colours of bottle green, burgundy, etc.

Alongside the late 19^th Century pedestal format there were also the library partners desks which are more like a leather top table with drawers around just at the top rather than to the floor with pedestals. These make for exceptionally good working leg room if storage isn’t required and for a family home a great place for all the family to sit with laptops for homework and catch up with business. The antique library partners desks are available in sizes from 5ft up to 12ft length and these larger partner desks also are ideal as meeting tables in the corporate environment.

We are often asked to adapt to include ability to wire for power within a desk and this is possible with grommets to the top and cable trunking fitted behind drawers to allow just a single tidy floor socket to serve the desk.
