You'd be surprised how many people require an antique table that can extend to seat 24 people or more and folk are delighted to find us as the Uks only true specialists in genuine antique tables of the 5 metre+ sizes required.

Recently a client asked for a dining table to seat 40 people and of a certain rare early 19th Century design formed in extendable sections (original design was by Gillows with his Imperial model) so could be moved to other rooms in the house. Well, as it happened, we'd just taken into stock a very good 7.5 metre example that was originally made in Ireland for a country estate house around C1840. 

'Not big enough' was the initial response but our very talented cabinet makers were able to make by hand using matching period salvage timbers an additional section for the table out to the required 11 metre size. We believe our very happy client now owns the largest antiue dining table in the World!

Although we stock some 3000 chairs in sets here the usual maximum in an original set would be 24 chairs but we were able to match up two large sets for our client and you'll see from the pictures quite a spectacular result! It took two of our best French polishers a full month to finish the table by hand to the rich nutty shade the client requested. It was well worth it as the table is truly spectacular!
