Very Rare Post Regency 12ft Mahogany Extending Dining Table By Famous Irish Makers

This extremely rare design of table is by famous makers Strathan of Dublin. At a time of invention of the metamorphic dining tables this was probably unique to Strathan who devised rotating tops and internal runner system to a pair of bases, allowing the dining table to disappear to the side of the room as a pair of consoles, yet simply assemble with leaves to a length to seat up to 16 people. Extremely versatile, captivating history and very functional dining table from the earliest period. Literally a museum piece! Measures 144" long x 53" wide.
