7 metre Antique Dining Table Late Victorian Round Extending

Almost certainly designed to be a centre piece table in a grand banqueting hall the table stands in the round when not in use and then extends with any combination of leaves out to nearly 7 metres to seat at least 26 people. The solid figured walnut top is thumb moulded at the edge and finished tidily below with a beaded apron to ends and all of the leaves. The articulate pedestal bases feature beautifully crisp relief carving to the scroll supports and in all the table is preserved in very good original condition. Hard to capture on camera but truly a wonderment to behold in the flesh and of the very best quality our wealthy ancestors commissioned via the finest craftsmen from history. Measures closed 145cm diameter and extends to full length 670cm.
